Privacy policy
This policy explains what we do with your personal information when you visit or buy from haruloba.com. Haruloba is a sole trader based in Ulverston, Cumbria, and is the data controller for that information.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, email address, delivery address and order details.
- When you contact us: your name, email address and whatever you write to us.
- When you browse: standard information about your device and how you use the site, collected by cookies.
We never see or store your full card details. Payments are handled by our payment providers.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To fulfil your order, meaning packing, posting and keeping you updated. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
- To answer your messages. Lawful basis: legitimate interests, being that we cannot reply otherwise.
- To keep records for tax and accounting. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
We do not send marketing email unless you have asked us to, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Who else sees it
Only the services needed to run the shop, and only for that purpose:
- Shopify, which hosts the store and processes orders on our behalf.
- Payment providers, who handle your payment.
- Royal Mail, which needs your delivery address.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for six years, as UK tax law requires. Messages are kept while they are useful for answering you and then deleted.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict that use. Email hello@haruloba.com and we will respond within a month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
The site uses cookies to keep your basket working and to understand how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the shop may then not work properly.
